Open White Shirt

What a bore! I never seem to get tired of white shirts. Though I feel like the rest of my wardrobe beckons me to spare it a little attention, I can't deny that my love affair with the quintessentially versatile white shirt won't be going anywhere. However, in spite of my over-wearing habit, I always try to update the ways and means by which I attempt to include this basic garment in my outfits. I mean, you kinda have to when you wear it at least 3 times per week. Sigh!

I decided that over the Summer I'll be trying to use an oversized white boyfriend shirt as a layering piece. Like a light cardigan, you know. And no 'are you crazy? It will make you so hot!' sermons stand a chance in altering the situation. I'm like too obsessed already.

My first set is a perfect lazy day outfit, ideal for running errands or a quick stroll in the city for an ice-cream (or for window shopping). I need to get one of these black sport bra tops to put underneath my white shirt. Oh, most probably the white shirt I'll be using is sheer and quite lightweight. Self-combustion is not my thing.

Beach White Shirt

Do you like how I used the same oversized white shirt as a beach cover-up on top of this fabulous high-waisted bikini? I must admit I've seen something similar on some vintage photographs a couple of weeks ago, but I can't remember where. I think I'm getting old really quickly and my memory is starting to play nasty tricks on me. Anyway, as soon as I land in Malta and I overdose on beach outings, I'll try to capture a photo (cue: Clinton Paul video monologue...) of myself wearing it so you can let me know whether it's a hit or miss.

White Shirt 3

I think I might wear something very similar to my last combination when I go to eat my favourite Maxokk pizza in Gozo! I'm a bit more keen to experiment with bold prints during the Summer but I still feel like I have to water them down with simple pieces and well, a bit of white. Complementing brown shoes and bag add a dose earthiness and warmth (not that I'll need it given the scorching temperatures of the Maltese summer!) I hope there's a heatwave when I go. God are you listening?
