Why hello there! It's Monday again and I might be one of the very few persons on this planet not to be suffering from the usual blues this day is meant to bring along. This is my week off and the weather is not that bad. To top it all, some of my closest girlfriends will be visiting London town during the weekend and I can't deny looking forward to a great deal of catching up!
Since I wasn't travelling to Brussels yesterday evening, I had the opportunity to go to Brick Lane for some proper vintage shopping. The aim was to find some Summer pieces for my Malta vacation, but I kinda failed my mission. I returned home with a Ralph Lauren shirt, yet another striped jumper and more things which I'm afraid I already forgot about. Geez, I'm doing a lot of shopping again. I also ate my very first fish and chips take-away in London! It was tasty, big time. I highly recommend getting something to eat for take-away and sitting down to eat it in Brick Lane. There are so many cool people hanging around on a Sunday. Worth a visit.
Onto the outfit. Nothing too groundbreaking really. It features three items I've been wearing ad nauseum and two new additions to my wardrobe.
I'm not very lucky with Primark (I will write a post about that soon...) but I've found some great basic pieces in between all the printed dresses and colourful shorts. Cases in point, my breton tee and my high waisted black jeans. The latter is a perfect dupe for the Topshop Jamie jeans. I swear. Oh, and it costs a fraction of the Topshop price tag. Since it's still not that warm here in the UK, I layered over my trusty denim jacket from Blitz Vintage Department Store.
My new pieces are my Primark bag in this wearable brown hue as well as my matching vintage loafer shoes I got from Brick Lane a few weeks ago. I never took the plunge and got a pair of vintage shoes, but these loafers have so much character that I couldn't just leave them there. I don't like wearing them in the rain for fear of ruining them, but there's no harm chucking them on when the streets are dry.
I wanted to be comfortable for my shopping trip, so I threw on a combination I could easily take off in the fitting room. That makes a big difference to me.
Lookbook button and outfit details are at the end of the post.
