Admit it, if there's one thing that excites you during the festive season more than Christmas decorations, it's definitely the thought of wearing Christmas jumpers! Even the less playful of us have succumbed to the cheerfulness of these seasonal numbers from time to time, and since they can be quite difficult to style in certain occasions, I decided to share how I would wear different Christmas jumpers according to how 'out there' I want to be on that day.
THE MONOCHROME CHRISTMAS JUMPER
Fairisle-style sweaters are amongst the crowd's most popular jumper choices, mainly because they have that rustic, traditional feel to them. These Christmas jumpers are some of the most subtle and thus easiest to style. I paired this one with burgundy pants, a denim jacket and black shoes and bag. Like it?
THE BOLD ONE
The bravest - and most festive - amongst us would fall head over heels with this Christmas lights jumper I found on Polyvore! I actually like it too! As long as I add some basic, monotone matching items - I chose black! - I think this jumper can be a real show-stealer without causing too much eye squinting from friends and family.
THE WITTY ONE
I tend to belong to the category of those who fancy typographic jumpers, especially if they come with a witty little saying. Remember when X factor was all the rage and everyone bought tops and mugs bearing their favourite X factor judge name? (I was gonna get a Team Simon one once!) This jumper somehow reminds me of those, only this time, the team member we're cheering for is our favourite reindeer. And it has to be Rudolph, right? I love this sweater, ideal for those who want to share the seasonal happiness without layering themselves in festive prints!
