I don't know whether I've ever mentioned this in my two-year blogging phase, but during my adolescence I was more than just obsessed with Converse shoes, or as many call them, 'Chucks'. There was a time when I owned about 35 at one go and, wait for it, about 10% of them were in one of the different possible shades of pink. As tends to be the case, when I became older I automatically became 'allergic' to whatever was 'my thing' during those years when I was strongly convinced I would marry one (or preferably both) of Greenday's or Good Charlotte's frontmen. And I never wore Converse again. I also gave up on becoming the wife of both aforementioned males.
Yet lately - blame it on Pinterest, Tumblr and a few cool bloggers I follow - I've been slowly finding myself being drawn back into the whole Converse idea. So as usual, I had to create a few Pinterest looks to help me make up my mind. The above combination has a very University feel to it. If I were a Cambridge student (never say never) I would don something like this to the park to read an arresting Shakespearean work. I already see it happening in my head. Also, the Converse I'm really keen on getting are the low-cut ones in red. Or maybe the cream ones? Still undecided on that, though at the moment my preference is evidently for the red pair.
For a more relaxed, shopping-appropriate outfit (because you always need to have plenty of those shopping spree uniforms...), I came up with this striped top, denim shirt, green chinos look. Obviously teamed up with your standard pair of red Converse shoes. Even though I added those plain gold rings, I'd probably just wear just one (if any) because I'm a granny fashion person who feels claustrophobic when there's too much going on.
In case you weren't going to sleep unless you knew how I used to wear my Converse back in the day, here's a slight insight into it. I recall that my craze with Converse coincided with me discovering the existence of blazers. Before the latter happened, I would literally layer around 4 tops to keep me warm during the chilly Winter months. Yes, how intelligent of me. So, anyway, here's a Converse and blazer outfit that, to my surprise, is also quite popular at the moment. Who knew I was being fashionable at the time when, I repeat, I thought I'd be a rockstar's wife? Yay me.
Do send me or link me any cool Converse-featuring outfits to help me make a sound decision. See you tomorrow!
