You know how I get these micro-obsessions every once in a while and I can't seem to get over them in spite of my best laid efforts? Well, ladies and gentlemen, here's my latest craze: yellow!
I think it all started quite a few months ago when I looked closely at the Michael Kors Spring/Summer collection for 2013. Even though there was a great deal of black and white (which I adore, too!), I noticed quite a widespread use of yellow and I was sold. However, the strongest blow came when I casually entered Zara last week and spotted a bright yellow blazer I was nearly ready to take home with me (let's say I was walking towards the cash till already until I finally remembered I did have one so I tried to take it back to the rail without looking like a fickle idiot. I hope it worked)
There you have it! An obsession was born. Since then, I've been playing around on Polyvore trying to come up with a few combinations featuring a bold, yellow blazer. I obviously started out with a striped monochrome outfit, not only to pay tribute to the aforementioned collection by Mr. Kors, but also because it's clearly one of the easiest ways to sport a traffic-stopping coloured blazer.
My second try doesn't quite vary much in terms of colours chosen, but I feel this combination is slightly more casual than my first one. It's either the flats I put with the rest or the face that I would wear this to a simple shopping date with my friends, something is much more laid-back in this option when compared to the first. You know me, I can't really post anything that doesn't at least vaguely make reference to polka dots. I'm sick.
I am currently on break during what turned out to be quite a tough meeting here at the Council of the European Union. I return to London tonight and I'm really happy because I finally have a week off. So I'll hopefully get time to post some outfit photos as well as some other pictures from the British capital.
Also, one final housekeeping comment. As you might know if you follow me on my main social networking profiles (ie. Facebook and Twitter), you would already know that I will be back in Malta for a couple of days in July. I can't wait to come back for some sun and sea (and maxi dresses, because I can hardly imagine myself wearing them in London!). Anyway, since I've already been contacted by a few individuals and companies for interviews and other collaborations, my schedule is quickly filling up. In case anyone wants to get in touch with me for similar reasons (not for a day by the beach, okay?) please do so on my email - lara@boffism.com - at your earliest because I'm trying my best to find time for everyone!
That's it for today! Adios!
